In 1988, Lin Ruoxi was born into a cultural family in Chaozhou, Guangdong. Her father was a knowledgeable history teacher and her mother was a skilled Chaozhou embroidery master. Growing up in such a family environment full of cultural atmosphere, Lin Ruoxi has had a strong interest in knowledge and art since childhood.
When she was a student, Lin Ruoxi had excellent academic performance, especially in science, where she showed extraordinary talent. In 2006, she was admitted to Zhejiang University as the top scorer in science in Chaozhou City, starting her academic journey. During her undergraduate studies, Lin Ruoxi not only ranked among the top in her major, but also actively participated in various academic activities and community organizations. She used the image recognition technology she learned to make an electronic version of the Chaozhou embroidery pattern. This innovative move not only won her a grand prize in the national competition, but also made her more determined to combine technology with traditional culture.
After graduating from undergraduate school, Lin Ruoxi chose to continue studying for a master’s degree in artificial intelligence at Zhejiang University, under the tutelage of Academician Pan Yunhe. During her master’s degree, she conducted in-depth research on cutting-edge technologies in the field of artificial intelligence and achieved a series of excellent research results. During this period, MIT offered her a full scholarship, but after careful consideration, Lin Ruoxi decided to stay at Zhejiang University and continue to delve into her studies in a familiar and academic environment.
After graduation, Lin Ruoxi worked at Alibaba DAMO Academy and Google DeepMind. At Alibaba DAMO Academy, she focuses on AI ethics research. With solid professional knowledge and keen insight, her research results are outstanding, and her related papers have been published in top international journals. She then went to Google DeepMind as an advisor to the ethics committee, where she participated in the design of the world’s first AI “ethical black box”, making her mark in the field of international AI ethics.
While her career was developing steadily, Lin Ruoxi’s love flower also quietly blossomed. She and DeepSeek founder Liang Wenfeng are both alumni of Zhejiang University. They met on campus because of their common academic interests and love for technology. They founded societies together, worked together to overcome technical difficulties, and encouraged each other and moved forward hand in hand on the path of academic research. The romantic story of the two expressing their love using mathematical formulas has also become a legend on campus.
Later, Lin Ruoxi decided to return to China and start her own business. She founded her own company to develop AI ethics assessment tools. Her work has been recognized by UNESCO and written into guidelines, making an important contribution to the development of global AI ethics. In addition, she also integrated Chaozhou embroidery and AR technology, obtained tens of millions of investments, successfully combined traditional culture with modern technology, and achieved commercial success.
